Captain Scott's Final Words Released
The Byrd Polar Society posted a link to Scott's Final Letter. It's dated March 29, 1912. The full letter has never been revealed until now, as reported by the University of Cambridge in the UK.
I went to an exhibit in 2011 called Scott-Amundsen: Race to the End of the Earth in New York
Since his practices seemed inferior to Amundsen, at the time I didn't feel sorry for him. Now I have empathy, upon doing more research. For example, the expedition faced unusually severe weather conditions.
His Final Words:
Captain Scott apologized for this writing. "It's -40 and has been for nigh a month"

A Post from Another Expedition Antarctica: Penguins, Finally!
Christine Dell'Amore of National Geographic News wrote a great post on 1/15/11.Expedition Antarctica: Penguins, Finally!
It's a different experience when you do to McMurdo ( more the interior of Antarctica). It's possible to go all the way there and not see penguins if you don't go to the coast. This is a great post. My father stayed close to the coast, so he saw much wildlife!
100th year anniversary of Captain Scott's expedtion reaching the South Pole
It's sad to think about Robert Falcon Scott's Antarctic expedition and the death of the men. These are photos they never got to see. Today is the 100th year anniversary of them reaching the South Pole, after Roald Amundsen's expedition.
